Welcome Thru Effingham, brought to you by Sketchpad Comedy

Welcome Thru Effingham is a sketch comedy podcast brought to you by the St Louis-based comedy writers at Sketchpad Comedy. Originally known as STL SketchPAD was created in 2014 as a way for local comedy writers to get their written work performed on stage without having to worry about silly things like lights, paying rent for stage time, or having enough material to put on an entire show. We’d love for you to check out one of our never-to-be-seen-again monthly shows. If you recently thought to yourself “man, my face just doesn’t laugh enough.” Then this is the show for you! Also, that’s weird self-talk – we like it. We like you. Click for information about our next show. If you’d like to learn more about how you can see a show or even participate yourself, check back often and consider signing up for the newsletter. We will never spam you and we promise that we will only email you about comedy in St. Louis (unlike Groupon who will email you mercilessly, even after you’ve unsubscribed 4 times. I don’t need to save 15% on a trip to Branson, Groupon! Geez.).

In this episode Jimbo Fiish announces his campaign for Mayor or Sheriff... we're still not sure which. And just where in the world is the former host of our show, Todd Hammers? Decisions will be made, lines in the sand are drawn and the repercussions of our characters' actions will reveal themselves later.

Join Guy Cornish as he tries to answer these questions while planting some more in your head, that may never be answered. This is Welcome Thru Effingham.

Things have changed in the town of Effingham. Todd Hammers is nowhere to be found. The Mark Twain Killer is on the loose and Jimbo Fiish... is in love? Lucas introduces the game show "How much change can you handle?" Lisa Chimmins is on the street asking the townspeople of Effingham if they support the campaign to use public funds to build a new High School football stadium.

And it's all going to lead to a tragic conclusion... we hope.

We are Sketchpad Comedy.

Comedy makes the world a better place & everyone should have access to it.

Since 2014, we’ve put on sketch comedy shows written and developed by a new cast every month. Comedy is important to us because we see it’s usefulness in our everyday lives. The ability to laugh in the face of sadness, depression and heartbreak is priceless. Everyone deserves a chance to be happy. We will continue doing this through podcasts, more shows, workshops and comedy courses.
